What’s it all about?

Most people are on some kind of a ‘spiritual journey’: that is, there are times when we find ourselves asking ‘What IS it all about? Why am I here, really? What IS the best way to live my life? What about suffering? Death?? God???

For all sorts of reasons, traditional church may be the last place people look for help on that journey, though many people will pray.

Explore is about providing space for exploring what it means to follow Jesus Christ, whatever our starting point, as part of a community which sets out to be open, inclusive, relevant – and fun!

What do we do?
We talk, we listen, we ask questions, sometimes we find answers. We eat together, relax together and try to support each other in practical ways.

Where do we do it?
On Sunday mornings you’ll find us at the Parish Church at 11am, learning about Christianity, about prayer and about worship in an informal way. On the 2nd Sunday we usually have CAFÉ CHURCH in our beautiful new Dorset aisle space – time to relax over coffee and look at a topical theme.

At other times, there’ll be things going on in people’s homes ( like having breakfast, watching films, putting up ceilings…) or maybe in a pub, a local hall, at the beach.

What about children?
‘Inclusive’ – means from 0 – 100+ Sometimes the children will be doing their own thing, sometimes everyone will be together. We know children can be hungry, noisy, restless… that’s fine! They are just as much on their own journey to make sense of the world as the rest of us, and we can all learn from each other. Everyone is equally valued, whatever their age, background, shoe size etc.
